Tanned goat hide, cut and pieced in a radiating patchwork of orange and sand panels, bound with a braided cream-and-blue passementerie. The gold is worked by hand — a medallion at the crown, a flower at the heart of every panel — so the light never settles in the same place twice.

Made soft and low, to be lived on: at the end of a sofa for a foot, at the tea table for a guest, on a floor of woven wool. A zipper opens to add or ease the fill. Goat leather darkens and softens with use — that is the patina, not a fault.
